Travel day to Thunder Bay

Not much to say about this except for one surreal moment in Nipigon. We had planed to stay the night since we were really tired of being in a van. Stopped into the Nipigon Hotel for a beer and had the misfortune of meeting Shawn. Five foot tall, 30ish, made of 90% booze. He was shitfaced. Came up to us immediately and took to Adam. Really liked his bald head and kept at him, asking him to go and get some with him. He claimed the two of them (and only the two of them) could go and out and hook up with loads of women. He was trying to get Adam alone for as our manager put it “spike his drink and then spike his ass”. He sat at our table and was in view of only Dan and Brad and he was rubbing himself as he spoke to us. Adam and I didn’t see that at all and found out in the van as we obviously decided to do the rest of the drive to Thunder Bay that night. -Ryan.

Sudbury Townhouse

This was our first time playing in Sudbury and we had no idea what to expect. The Sudbury Wolves (OHL Hockey) were playing in a playoff game that thankfully ended before our set (rabid fans). The bar would fill up to capacity with fans from the game trying to get in as many cheap beers as they could in between periods and then the place was deserted until the next intermission or the end of the game. The show was really fun, lots of energy from the crowd, and a lot of dancing in the crowd. We heard from three different sources that the basement (where we were sleeping) was haunted. No one noticed anything but I think that may have had something to do with the amount of alcohol we consumed. As a side note Stompin’ Tom wrote “Sudbury Saturday Night” in the basement. Literally in the basement on the wall. -Ryan.

Kingston, ON @ AJ’s Hangar

This was the official last show of our tour with The Waking Eyes and Boy. We blew the tour a kiss goodbye by having Boy and The Waking Eye’s join us on stage for a farewell song. We all sang and played “My Generation” together and put the tour to sleep. Goodnight and sweet dreams tour. –Adam.

Toronto, ON @ Lee’s Palace

Today we recorded an acoustic set called The Orange Lounge sessions. We did some strange versions of our songs, but they turned out quite well. It’ll be airing on Sympatico/MSN sometime soon. Anyways, we ran so late with The Orange sessions that we didn’t have time for a soundcheck at Lee’s. Really late set tonight, we had the coveted 1am slot. We made due with our rush job sound and played. Good late fun. –Adam.

London, ON @ Call The Office

London is officially one of our top three cities to play. It’s always fun and Call The Office is a fantastic rock club, not too clean, not too rough, dark and loud. The only funny thing that happened tonight was somebody spit all over all the bands gear…..I still have spit on my cymbals. –Adam.
