Stockton-on-Tees @ Georgian Theatre

I’m not sure if my sources, sources are correct, but I heard this is the oldest standing theatre in England. If I’m lying, I’m not lying, I’m misinformed. What can I say….big rock walls, neat place. The Canadian drummer touring England had drums, stands, cymbals, etc., The British drummers didn’t tonight. Make any sense? I don’t think so either. I shared gear with the two opening bands and the first band’s drummer finishes his set, loses my high hat clamp, then takes off. This is why some bands are asses about sharing gear. Anyways, to the show. Fun show, good set. The highlight of the night was a couple conceiving their first born while we played….Maybe we’re make out music. I don’t know.

Manchester, England @ The Bierkeller

All of our British friends came out this show. Moco & friends, Moz -who was kind enough to let us live above his pub The Rossall Tavern. Poor guy always helps us out and we always manage to wake him up at 4am for one stupid reason or another. Sorry about the alarm and the key fiascos. We had a really good, energetic set tonight. It usually takes the first couple dates on a tour to get back into top form. Anyways, Tonight’s show was jammed full of people as well. I don’t know for sure, but I’d guess it too sold out. Moz, you dance like you mean it.

Nottingham, England @ Liar’s Club/The Social

Loaded in, left, ate, slept, etc. Came back, had a few drinks at the bar underneath the venue. About ten minutes before our set time, we went upstairs. It was insanely packed. You could hardly move. It sold out!!….and it wasn’t a small place like in London. The last couple times we’ve toured England there were some good turnouts, but nothing like this. We had a great set. Got pissed. Left.

London, England @ The Betsy Trotwood

This show was in a very small venue. It was the size of your living room, or your neighbors, I don’t know. It was pretty small. Great sound in that strange little room. Good fun set. Above the room we played in was a pub, before the show we hung out there having some pints. The only downside to this bar was that the bartender must have loved the band Europe, because we heard “The Final Countdown” half a dozen times. It’s strange and shitty to hear it once, but six times...c’mon. Before that we went for diner at Yo! Sushi. Conveyer belt of fresh sushi….

Halifax, Nova Scotia @ The Halifax Forum (w/ Billy Talent)

Well, this entry is going to be scattered thoughts with no real order; I don’t have the energy to put it neatly together at the moment. It took place over three days in
Halifax. Here it goes…Flew from Hamilton to Halifax. Rented a van from Thrifty Rentals with tires so bald we got stuck and needed a push twice…..in a well plowed hotel parking lot. Thanks for the safe ride. Nova Scotia has had fantastic food every time I’ve been here before, except for this time. It was a long string of terrible meals. Including, quite possibly the worst meal I’ve ever had to pay money for. A chicken Burger at Ponderosa’s….How do you mess up deep fried chicken? To the show….This was an all ages show, which is always nice. Younger people seem to be more passionate and excited about seeing live shows than 19+ crowds. We had a really good set, huge crowd. Billy Talent was headlining and one minute before the clock struck midnight, Ben of Billy Talent called us, Closet Monster and 52 Seconds on stage for the countdown to the New Year. When the clock struck 12 we were standing on stage in front of thousands of people, something I wouldn’t have believed a year ago. –Adam.
